List the diesel equipment you run. We'll estimate your fleet's annual fuel spend, what a 3–7% reduction is worth, and how much CO₂ it removes. Don't know your fuel burn? Enter horsepower and we'll estimate it from manufacturer data.

Check anything that applies. These aren't included in the dollar figures. They help us understand your operation before we talk.
A selection of the 110+ customer, private-lab and government-lab results published on zelkam.com/results. Results vary with equipment, duty cycle and fuel.
Fuel used = quantity × fuel rate × hours per year. On-road vehicles use distance ÷ fuel economy.
Fuel rate from horsepower. When you don't enter a fuel rate, we estimate it from Caterpillar Performance Handbook average (medium-duty) consumption for that machine type, using a curve fit to Cat's published models: gal/hr = a × HPb. Typical error against the published models is ±10%, and more for dozers. If you know your actual fuel burn, enter it. Your number always wins.

Generator sets use a standard diesel genset consumption table by kW and load (¼, ½, ¾, full), interpolated.
CO₂ = fuel saved × 10.21 kg CO₂ per US gallon (2.70 kg per liter), the U.S. EPA emission factor for diesel (2025), the same factor as Zelkam's other calculators. Reported in metric tonnes.
Not included: savings from fewer oil changes, fewer DPF regenerations and longer engine life. Customers often see these, but we don't put a dollar figure on them.
